So, for all you who have been requesting an update, here it is!
Roadtrip Fun:
Bumbles...late start + need all new tires (eek!) = 4 hours behind schedule, Iowa state fair means "NO room at the Inn, Mary!" for the next 30 miles, flat and boring Nebraska, smelly Iowa, we forgot toothpaste, cop pulls dad over for speeding but really just wants to search our "suspicious" car for drugs with the canine unit
Best part: Guess this artist game with dad. I play Edge of Glory by Lady Gaga and give the hint "crazy costumes". He says Elton John. :D
Chicago's Welcoming Arrival:
Beautiful blue skies and perfect weather turns drastically to grey, threatening clouds, which in turn becomes rain. Rain that is peaceful until it rains harder then hardens into golf ball-sized hail! All within 3 minutes.
Best part: Having lunch at a legit Irish pub. Irish waitress named Brid, Irish rugby game on the tube, and rowdy Ireland supporters drinking their Guinness and Killian's.
Chat with my roomie, Laura who is a wicked awesome girl originally from here, but moved to Hawaii for freshman year marine biology. Now is a film student at DePaul and will graduate this year. Funny thing is, her free spirit reminds me a lot of my old roomie in LA, Kayla. I need to latch on to her energy and hold on for the ride because it's an attribute I so admire.
Accomplishment: Backed into a parking spot!
