Paul Revere's House
The most memorable stop in Boston was the New England Holocaust Memorial, set in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city. The memorial has six, large glass towers representing the six death camps (Belzec, Auschwitz-Birkenau, Sobibor, Majdanek, Treblinka, and Chelmno). Each tower has the registration numbers of victims etched in white on the glass plates. While you walk the path through the towers, you read astounding quotes from survivors, and you feel the warm air rising from the grates below you. The designer, Stanley Saitowitz, described it, "like human breath as it passes through the glass chimneys to heaven." I thought they did a beautiful job creating a beacon of memory and hope that someday we will live in a world filled only with peace and love.
so when are you moving to Boston?!?
